Biography
Lisa WardLisa Ward has directed choirs in Red Deer, Alberta since 1989 and this marks her 30th year as a teacher and choral conductor! Lisa began her teaching career in 1998 in White City, Saskatchewan, and has spent the last 29 years in Red Deer. Lisa continues to make significant contributions within Canada's choral community.
Lisa has taught choral music in both the High School and Elementary levels and her choirs have been recipients of national and international recognition for musical excellence in both jazz and chamber choir fields. Across Canada and the United States, Lisa regularly supports choral artistry and excellence as a clinician, artist-in-residence and adjudicator. A recipient of the Alberta Centennial Medal Award and an Excellence in Teaching Award nominee, Lisa was has also been awarded the Con Spiritu Award by the Alberta Choral Federation. When Lisa's not in choir rehearsals, she loves spending time with her two grown-up daughters; and she also teaches private voice and piano lessons, works as a life coach, and runs her home-based business, Gorgeous You Cosmetics. Lisa has fostered young peoples' passion for choral music and has led choral groups to national and international acclaim. She demonstrates excellence in teaching and conducting with tremendous energy, enthusiasm and passion. Working with choirs has been a tremendous source of joy and connection for Lisa and she believes it has enabled her to thrive, smile, grow and learn something new every day. |
